  • I had passed this one homeless man on multiple occasions on my way home. Last time I saw him, I had stopped to give him a goodie bag of snacks and he had asked me and my roommate to pray for him. When I first received the Science & Health, he was my immediate thought.

The day after I got this copy of S&H, I had a terribly chaotic, long day at work- so I went out for a run to refresh myself. On my drive home, I was chatting with God and looking for a way to bring good into someone else's day - this man came to mind & I hoped I would see him so I could give him the S&H. As God would have it, this man, Wesley (as I later found out), was not out in the open, but instead off to the side of a building- not looking for anything. I knew this was the moment I had just prayed for so I circled around and took this opportunity to give him the Science & Health. I explained that he had asked me to pray for him prior and that I was hoping he could find comfort by reading. He shared that he would read it with an open mind and was very grateful.

  • I shared Science and Health with one of my daughter’s friends who is dealing with an ongoing health diagnosis. She recently remarked that she needs to really start reading it.

I gave one to a pianist friend whose wife is having a health challenge.

Another one went to a furniture salesman who asked for prayer regarding one of his children.

Also one of our older Sunday School students asked if he could take one to share with a friend ( I had it in my car for that very reason)!

Side note; I put the textbook in gift bags , because they really are a GIFT, as we know!

  • This is the story of my first S&H sharing.

I finally realized that I was feeling like I had to be the one to select who to share a Science and Health with.  I needed to get “I” out of the way.  God, Divine Mind, Divine Love knows exactly who the simple seeker is and would direct them to discover this book.  I got an idea quickly.

There is a little red library book box on my daily walking route around Highland Park Village.  I notice books come and go quickly so I know it is used.  I decided to share my first book there.

I wrote a note to whoever might select this book and taped it inside the front cover.  I prayed daily as I walked by the box knowing that Mind was reaching out to the seeker.  I actually sat down near the box one day to pray for this book to bless the stranger I did not know.   I checked for 3 days and on the 4th day it was gone.  I have continued to know that the healing truths in this book are and will continue to bless whoever has it.

I will do this again in a couple of weeks.  I am also going to keep a book handy in my car so if I pass another box while I am driving around I will stop and put it in there.

    This was my note:

    Dear Reader,

This book has blessed my life and the lives of my family for 5 generations.  I hope that the healing principles, as taught and practiced by Christ Jesus and explained in this book, will bless you, too.  The last chapter entitled Fruitage shares accounts from those who have been healed just by reading this book.

    Shared with love.
